The Advisory Board of Lived Experience (ABLE) of Stroke, Epilepsy, and Dementia is a dedicated group of individuals with lived experience who are meaningfully and actively involved in the iNeuron research process, including in governance, priority setting, conducting research and knowledge mobilization. Thus far, ABLE members have taken on roles as co-authors of knowledge mobilization products, designed for plain language and research audiences. These tools have helped to bridge knowledge gaps and align language between researchers and lived experience experts, making research more impactful for those who need it the most.
A visual guide outlining each pillar’s role within iNeuron.
A live document to support ABLE members and researchers, detailing team goals, pillar aims, PI expertise, and a glossary of scientific terms in plain language.
A tip sheet resource for researchers to use when preparing presentations for non-scientific audiences that includes accessibility considerations for people with lived experience.
